Victoria (Tori) Arendt

Resident in Rad/Interventional RadiologyBioTori grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Duke University, where she majored in Biology and minored in Computer Science. After graduation, she moved to San Diego, where she worked at a biotechnology company researching stabilization of blood products at room temperature. In 2014, she moved to Palo Alto and began medical school at Stanford. During medical school, she worked with Dr. Rusty Hofmann in interventional radiology researching best practices in venous interventions, leading to multiple publications and presentations at SIR. After graduating from medical school in 2018, she began her general surgery intern year at the Cleveland Clinic and after a year in Cleveland, she returned to the California sunshine to begin radiology residency in July 2019. Tori continues to be active in her research into the treatment of venous disease. Outside of residency, she also enjoys hiking around northern California, traveling the world, running, and reading all types of books.

She completed MD/PhD training at Stanford Medical School with funding from the MSTP and the NRSA fellowship. Her doctoral thesis synthesized the neuroimaging literature into a framework for knowledge of human brain function, published in Nature Neuroscience and forming the basis for a US patent. He is currently a clinical fellow in infectious diseases at Stanford University; he previously completed residency training in internal medicine at Stanford University and an M.D. and Ph.D. in immunology at the University of Chicago. Bunker’s research investigates interactions between the microbiome and the immune system, including fundamental questions about how and why certain microbes generate immune responses and how this interplay influences both normal homeostasis and infectious or inflammatory diseases. His clinical interests include microbial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, and the diagnosis and treatment of complex infections.

BioCharlene Chow, PA-C is a Physician Assistant with the Urologic Oncology Department at Stanford Healthcare. She is originally from San Francisco, but obtained her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Oregon Health & Science University in 2013 in Portland, OR. She has a background in thoracic surgery working with lung cancer patients at Providence Portland Medical Center from 2013-2015. She then returned to the Bay Area and started with Stanford Urologic Oncology in March 2016.
She is the sole Urologic Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at the Cancer Center South Bay (CCSB) and specializes in urologic cancers including those of the bladder, prostate, kidney, ureter, testicle, and penis. Aside from seeing both new and return patients on her own and alongside physicians, she is also well versed in performing outpatient procedures such as prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, and bladder cancer treatments.
Her clinical interest lies in quality improvement. She has successfully completed the Clinical Excellent & Leadership Training (CEPT) program at Stanford, and is constantly involving herself and others in ongoing process improvement projects.
When she is not at work, she enjoys dance parties with her two young children, cooking, exercising, and spending time outdoors. -

Resident in Surgery - Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeryBioHalley Darrach is a plastic and reconstructive surgery resident (2020-2027) at Stanford Health. She is currently completing a professional development year with ReSurge International, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing global access to reconstructive surgery through surgeon education and sustainable, local-driven initiatives.
Dr. Darrach received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins and her bachelor's in cellular biology from California State University Northridge. While at Hopkins, she completed a dedicated research fellowship studying oncologic reconstruction outcomes under the mentorship of Dr. Justin Sacks and worked as a medical illustrator designing patient and surgeon education tools.
Prior to residency, she spent several years conducting astrobiology research at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and was the first hire at a biotech startup company, where she helped adapt NASA technology for medical and counterterrorism applications. Outside of the OR, she enjoys figure drawing, long-distance swimming, and travelling the world in search of new favourite cuisines.
Dr. Darrach's research interests include gender affirming surgery, oncologic reconstruction, ethnic plastic surgery, societal perceptions of deformity, and use of medical illustration in patient and surgeon education. -
Alex Maurice Dussaq

He graduated from the MD-PhD program at Boston University, with a dissertation focus on the effects of nutrient excess on mitochondrial function and oxidative stress in the heart. IRDH serves as the front door for organizations interested in exploring a strategic relationship with Stanford Medicine. The work is part of Stanford Medicine's Strategy Team, led by Priya Singh.

BioKevin Helenius is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He graduated with his Master Physician Assistant (MPA) degree from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA. Kevin is also a board-certified athletic trainer (ATC) and began his career in sports medicine as the athletic trainer at a local high school in San Jose, CA. Kevin recently returned to the Sports Medicine clinic at Stanford Health Care, where he previously worked prior to his PA education. He currently assists Dr. Tim McAdams in surgery and provides patient care in the outpatient clinic setting. Jon Hochstein

I also completed an intern year in Pediatrics resident at Boston Children’s Hospital before transitioning to cardiothoracic surgery. I received my MD from Harvard Medical School in the Health Sciences and Technology program joint with MIT. I trained as a biomedical engineering at the Johns Hopkins University with a focus in instrumentation.
I've interests in medical devices spanning from assistive robotics, surgical devices, to point of care devices. I have extensive experience working in the electronics and coding aspect of device development.
My long term goal is to become a congenital cardiovascular surgeon and improve the field of transplantation (partial and whole), congenital cardiac surgery techniques, and congenital mechanical circulatory support. This vocation comes from my personal experience receiving a heart transplant in 1999. -

Sung (Dave) Jeon, MD

BioDr. Jeon is a neurocritical care fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine. He studied English and Neuroscience at Amherst College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He subsequently acquired his medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and completed his residency in neurology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He has a background in liberal arts with experiences in palliative care and clinical research, which ranges from deep-brain electrophysiology, behavioral psychiatry, as well as management of status epilepticus and low NIHSS large vessel occlusion strokes. Some of his favorite hobbies include hiking, reading, wine tasting, and going to the dog park with his roommate Kaia, who is one judgmental Shiba Inu. He fell in love with neurocritical care in medical school and residency for its high acuity environment, complexity of cases, and interaction with patients and families.

Resident in Graduate Medical EducationBioPrerak Juthani is a Bay Area native and completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, where he graduated summa cum laude and double-majored in Molecular Biology and Public Health. He then went on to Yale where he was able to bridge his love of medicine and entrepreneurship by completing the joint MD-MBA program. Prerak’s first stint in entrepreneurship was when he created an organic chemistry board game called REACT! (reactgame.com); he brought it to market by crowdfunding over $25,000 and the game has sold hundreds of copies worldwide. Outside of the hospital, Prerak has a Youtube channel where he creates videos to increase transparency of what it’s like to be a medical student and resident; he also has a podcast called Red, White & Brown, which provides an insight into the novel immigrant experiences of first-generation South Asian immigrants.

Eric J. Keller

Keller is an interventional/diagnostic radiology resident (2019-2024) with a background in bioethics, medical anthropology, 4D flow MRI, and legal guardianship. He founded the Applied Ethics in Interventional Radiology (IR) working group, a multi-institutional group of faculty and trainees developing practical approaches to challenging situations in IR. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Interventional Initiative, a nonprofit devoted to patient and clinician awareness, access, and advocacy regarding minimally invasive image-guided procedures.
