I found my passion towards the field of renewable energy during my Chemical Engineering undergraduate program at Chennai (India). I now find myself immersed in the variety and depth of the courses and opportunities offered by the Atmosphere/Energy Masters program in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, fueled by the desire to innovate and learn from the best minds in this field. I am using my time at Stanford to dive deeper into energy, with a focus on providing clean energy and mitigating the effects of climate change caused by our dependence on fossil fuels.
I have an ardent desire to work on the integration of renewables to the electricity grid and maximize energy efficiency in our communities and businesses. I am aiming to use a machine learning and data science approach towards generating solutions for the above challenge. My current courses at Stanford are focused on advanced topics in energy systems, resources and energy economics, superimposed with courses on data science and machine learning to supplement my learning in these areas.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests
I am working on the integration of renewables into the electricity grid and how to tackle the challenges involved in this process. I am using a machine learning approach based on data-driven models to simulate the power flow for energy and power systems. The process helps study the behavior of the grid with the current penetration of distributed renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaics and wind energy.
