I am a postdoctoral fellow under the guidance of Prof. James McClelland at the PDP lab. Before joining Stanford, I graduated with a doctorate in deep learning under the guidance of Prof. Nick Kingsbury in Signal Processing and Communications Laboratory from the University of Cambridge. I was also affiliated with Jesus College, Cambridge. I graduated with a MASc. in Biomedical Engineering from Simon Fraser University, Canada and obtained a B-Tech. in Electrical Engineering from NIT Warangal, India.

I am primarily interested in understanding and replicating the learning aspect of human intelligence: our ability to rapidly learn so much about the world from few relevant experiences as well as infer causal relations that extend beyond these experiences.

Designing AI systems that mimic human learning should lead to more powerful machines as well as more powerful theoretical paradigms for understanding human cognition.
