Andrea Christine Geissinger
Postdoc Res Affiliate, Scandinavian Center for Organization Research
Bio
Andrea Geissinger is a postdoctoral scholar at the SCANCOR (Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research). Her research interests lie at the intersection of digital innovation, organizational theories, and sociological institutionalism.
Her goal is to understand the impact of modern organizing and strategizing on our social and cultural fabric, and the reciprocal influence of culture and society on them. By drawing on sociological institutionalism, her work empirically often critically assesses how digital technologies influence social and cultural transformation. She mainly utilizes qualitative and archival research methods following a phenomenological approach. For instance, one of her current projects focuses on deepening our understanding of what “community” means in, for, and around organizations and society and how this impacts us as individuals.
Andrea is also a Research Fellow at the House of Innovation at the Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Örebro University School of Business, M.Sc. from Stockholm Business School, and a B.A. from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. Prior to her research career, Andrea worked in management consulting.
