Bio


Aubrey Florom-Smith, PhD, RN, is a Nurse Scientist in the Office of Research, Patient Care Services at Stanford Health Care, supporting Inpatient and Acuity-Adaptable Unit nursing and interprofessional research. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Miami, and she has over 10 years of nursing, clinical and applied research experience. Her research interests include human health and performance in challenging conditions and environments. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau (International Honor Society of Nursing), the Aerospace Medical Association, and the Aerospace Nursing and Allied Health Professionals Society.

    The purpose of this research is to evaluate aromatherapy inhaler use and how it may impact cancer distress and coping by patients in the first few days after hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT).
