BioZachary was born in Texas and grew up on three continents. He received his bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Plan II Honors at the University of Texas in Austin in 2012 before working as a reservoir engineer in the energy industry. Zachary moved to Stanford with his wife and son in September 2016 as a student of Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsJose Urteaga research centers on the governance and sustainable management of marine natural resources in developing countries. Particularly he is interested in understanding how social and institutional arrangements interact to manage diverse habitats and species and how these arrangements are affected by contextual and historical factors. Currently, he is focusing on sea turtle conservation in Nicaragua and El Salvador.
