Research - Post-Bacc, Ethics In Society
BioLouie is a Research Associate in the Technology Ethics & Policy Rising Scholars Program at the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society. Louie supports the Embedded Ethics program, investigating the effectiveness of teaching ethics in computer science education. More specifically, he is interested in how underrepresented communities are connecting with ethics when building computing technologies. Louie is a first-generation graduate from UC Berkeley, where he received his bachelor's degree in Data Science with a concentration in Philosophy.

BioJuan N. Pava is a Research Fellow in the Tech Ethics and Policy Rising Scholars Program at the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society. He is actively engaged with Stanford HAI’s emerging work on the intersection of new technology, the social sector, and the global south. Juan is interested in the political economy of emerging countries and its intersection with political philosophy and ethics. He has a bachelor’s degree from New York University, where he pursued a double major in Philosophy and Economics. He was born and raised in Colombia.
