Dita Gratzinger
Professor of Pathology
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsI have research interests in the interaction of normal and neoplastic hematolymphoid cells with the bone marrow. lymph node and spleen microenvironment and the interactions of these compartments with immune perturbation and dysregulation.

Assistant Professor of Pathology
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsWe develop breakthrough technologies in molecular testing to advance early and minimally invasive diagnostics. The current focus is a methylation profiling platform using enriched sequencing. One output is the clarification of a patient's tumor type while using less or no tissue (liquid biopsy).

BioCurrently, I work in the Butcher Lab, where I use neural networks to search for overlooked peptides hidden within protein-coding genes. Once cleaved, these peptides can bind to G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs), the molecular “switchboards” that control many of the body’s signals.
I've explored different ways of leveraging machine learning for biomedical discovery, from training generative models for breast cancer detection to building molecular pipelines that model drug–target inhibition. Across these projects, I’ve sought to translate technical tools into insights that can meaningfully advance society.
