Saswati Karmakar
Postdoctoral Scholar, Genetics
BioSaswati Karmakar obtained her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. She pursued her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, working on the molecular characterization of pancreatic cancer stem cells and their contribution to cancer initiation and progression. Then, she moved to Stanford University with the National Cancer Institute's F99/K00 award for a postdoctoral position in Monte Winslow's lab. Saswati's current research uses novel approaches such as molecular barcoding and high throughput sequencing to understand pancreatic cancer pathogenesis. Saswati's long-term research interest is to elucidate mechanisms of metastasis and ultimately find better therapeutic avenues for pancreatic cancer patients.

Abhinav Kaushik
Postdoctoral Scholar, Sean N Parker Center for Allergy & Asthma Research
Research Engineer, Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research - LabBioAbhinav Kaushik, PhD
Research Engineer (Computational biology)
My current position at Stanford involves single cell Mass cytometry (CyTOF), gene expression and DNA methylation data analysis, as well as integrative analysis of single-cell datasets. I am working with a team to standardize the CyTOF data analysis pipeline using different statistical modeling approaches (linear or non-linear, Bayesian inference).
I have a strong experience in analyzing RNAseq, DNAseq and ChIP-seq data analysis. I am a programmer who loves to code with R, C# and perl. My keen interest includes application development for analyzing scientific data using different statistical approaches. However, my work is not restricted to one particular domain and sometimes includes in silico data analysis and algorithm development for solving both genomics and structural biology problems.
I have joined the Nadeau Laboratory at the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford in July 2018. I received my PhD in Bioinformatics from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, India in 2017. Before joining the Nadeau Laboratory, I worked as a Visiting Researcher in the Pathogen Genomics laboratory at Kings Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. -

Danish Khan
Postdoctoral Scholar, Biochemistry
BioDanish is a postdoctoral research associate at the Brandman & Rohatgi Labs at the Dept. of Biochemistry. His research focuses on understanding the mechanism of eukaryotic protein quality control and stress response pathways. Before joining Stanford, Danish earned his PhD from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX where he studied chemical inhibition of a lipid signaling protein and discovered a novel heme-binding lipid transfer protein. He also holds a Masters degree in Biotechnology from Banaras Hindu University in India, and a Bachelors degree from Presidency College, Kolkata (University of Calcutta), India. In addition to science, he likes to read about law and intersection of law and technology.
