Jayme Koltsov, PhD
Senior Biostatistician, Orthopaedic Surgery
BioDr. Koltsov is an expert in clinical and translational orthopaedic research design and biostatistics with a unique and valuable combination of skill-sets. Her foundation from her Ph.D. in orthopaedic biomechanics provides an understanding of the underlying anatomy, pathology, and mechanics not typical for a biostatistician. This background empowers effective and efficient communication with clinicians and scientists and enables Dr. Koltsov to develop study designs and analytic strategies exceptionally tailored to the physical orthopaedic problems under investigation.
Dr. Koltsov has an extensive knowledge base in research methodology and statistical methods honed from her PhD onward, including univariate statistics (parametric, non-parametric, and categorical); survival analysis (Kaplan Meier and Cox proportional hazards); multivariable and longitudinal data analyses (logistic regression, generalized linear modeling, linear mixed models, hierarchical and repeated measures modeling, and generalized estimating equations,); quasi-experimental techniques for reducing bias (propensity score matching and inverse probability treatment weighting); patient reported outcome design and validation; diagnostic test validation; and healthcare economic analysis. Over the past 11 years, Dr. Koltsov has developed a successful track record of collaborations with clinicians and scientists to lead and facilitate high-quality clinical, translational, and health services research spanning multiple orthopaedic disciplines, including spine, arthroplasty, foot and ankle, upper extremity, trauma, sports medicine, pediatrics, rheumatology, rehabilitation, and biomechanics. -

Daniel Kraft, MD
Adjunct Professor, Med/Hospital Medicine
BioDaniel Kraft is a Stanford and Harvard-trained physician-scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience across clinical practice, biomedical research, and healthcare innovation.
He earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Brown University and his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, completed the Harvard Combined Residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and went on to fellowships in hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation at Stanford and a postdoctoral research fellowship in the laboratory of Irving L. Weissman. He went on to serve on clinical faculty at UCSF in pediatric bone marrow transplantation, and as NIH-funded research faculty at Stanford.
His academic research has spanned stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, stem cell–derived immunotherapies for cancer, and the bioengineering of human T-cell differentiation, with work published in journals including Nature and Science. He holds medical device, immunology, and stem cell–related patents, and is the inventor of the MarrowMiner, an FDA-cleared device for minimally invasive bone marrow harvesting.
Dr. Kraft is the Founder and Chair of NextMed Health (formerly Exponential Medicine), Founder of Digital.Health, and Managing Partner of Continuum Health Ventures, an early-stage fund focused on democratizing health and improving healthspan. A frequent voice on the future of medicine, he has delivered four TED and two TEDMED talks and keynotes worldwide. He is also a member of the inaugural class of the Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellowship and the Kauffman Fellows Society. -

To this end, I am focusing on revealing the conformational landscape of viral RNA during reverse transcription. I am also devoted to promoting science education and outreach.
