Deb Matityahu
Clinical Associate Professor, Obstetrics & Gynecology - General
BioDebra Matityahu, MD, MSCP, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner with more than 30 years of experience caring for women. She is a Clinical Associate Professor with the Stanford Program in Menopause & Healthy Aging, where she specializes in the care of women during perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.
Dr. Matityahu has focused on menopause care for more than two decades. During her 21 years at Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City, she served as the medical center’s menopause specialist, providing consultations and managing challenging menopause referrals from physician colleagues. She believes that menopause care should be individualized and collaborative, helping each woman understand her symptoms, treatment options, and the potential benefits and risks of therapy so that she can make informed decisions about her health.
Dr. Matityahu also serves as Chief Clinical Officer and Medical Advisor for Soy ELLA, a menopause-focused telehealth company based in Mexico that is expanding access to specialized menopause care for women in Latin America.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Matityahu has extensive experience in physician leadership and communication. She served in a physician leadership role at Kaiser Permanente for more than a decade and spent nearly 20 years teaching and coaching physicians in communication skills, bedside manner, and the patient experience. She brings that same emphasis on listening, communication, and shared decision-making to her own patient care.
Dr. Matityahu received her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and her medical degree from New Jersey Medical School/Rutgers University. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University followed by residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Drexel University.
Her commitment to women’s health extends beyond her clinical practice. Dr. Matityahu is the founder and Executive Director of Beyond Fistula, a nonprofit organization serving women and girls in western Kenya following obstetric fistula surgery. The organization provides education, vocational training, peer support, and economic empowerment programs designed to help women rebuild their lives after fistula repair. Her work in global women’s health has contributed to published research on the psychosocial, economic, reproductive, and empowerment outcomes of women recovering from obstetric fistula.
Dr. Matityahu has received numerous awards recognizing her leadership and service, including the David Lawrence Community Service Award and the Rotary Peninsula Starlight Award, and she was named one of the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 100 Most Influential Women in Silicon Valley.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Matityahu enjoys tennis, hiking, and spending time with her family. She has crossed Nepal’s Annapurna Pass and more recently summited Mount Kilimanjaro as part of a stoma and fistula awareness campaign. -
Emily Clair McClung, MD, FACOG
Clinical Assistant Professor, Obstetrics & Gynecology - Gynecologic Oncology
BioDr. McClung is a fellowship trained, board certified Gynecologic Oncologist with the Stanford Medicine Cancer Center and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Stanford Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology.
She graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City and she completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford Medicine. She then pursued sub-specialty Gynecologic Oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Prior to joining Stanford Health Care, Dr. McClung was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.
Dr. McClung actively contributes to gynecologic cancer research. She has studied prevention of surgical site infections, gene expression prediction of lymph node metastasis in endometrial cancer, treatment resistance in ovarian cancer, and additional topics. She co-authored articles on her findings for peer-reviewed publications such as the International Journal of Gynecologic Cancer, International Journal of Women’s Health, and Gynecologic Oncology Reports.
She authored the chapter on the diagnosis and management of vaginal cancer in the textbook Handbook of Gynecology and has made invited presentations at meetings of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and other associations. She works to improve patient access to state-of-the-art care as an investigator in cooperative group clinical trials.
She has won multiple teaching awards for her work with medical students and residents. She is passionate about increasing awareness of gynecologic cancer in medical trainees.
Dr. McClung provides comprehensive care with a personalized approach for patients with gynecologic cancer and pre-cancer including surgery, chemotherapy, cancer risk reduction, and palliative care. She has a strong clinical interest in patient safety and quality of life both during and after cancer treatment. -

Kavita Mishra
Clinical Associate Professor, Obstetrics & Gynecology
BioDr. Kavita Mishra is a board-certified urogynecologist who specializes in transgender surgery and the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. She has specific training in gender-affirming vaginoplasty, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary and fecal incontinence. She has expertise in vaginal and minimally invasive reconstructive pelvic surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic approaches.
