Hideki Takeshita
Visiting Scholar, Urology - Divisions
BioDr. Hideki Takeshita graduated from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and received his doctorate from Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He is currently working as an assistant professor at the Department of Urology, Saitama Medical Center, Saitama Medical University, Kawagoe City, Japan. He is scheduled to visit Stanford University Hospital from April 2023 to June 2023.
His research work spans urological cancer, benign prostate hyperplasia, and acute scrotum. His recent field of interest is robotic-assisted surgery, and he intends to learn about robotic-assisted surgery from Professor Benjamin I. Chung, Director of Robotic Surgery during his stay. -
Alan Eih Chih Thong
Clinical Assistant Professor, Urology
BioDr. Thong is a surgeon specializing in urologic oncology. He has expertise in all aspects of prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancer care, including endoscopic, robotic, and open surgery, and has a special interest in complex cases including: salvage surgery following radiation or chemotherapy, resection of locally advanced tumors, minimal access robotic surgery, and MRI-US fusion targeted biopsies. Dr. Thong is the first surgeon in northern California to utilize single port robotic assisted laparoscopic technology for both pelvic and retroperitoneal surgeries. He has won numerous awards including the NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award, and has authored and co-authored publications on the treatment of urologic cancers.
