Dr. Kimura obtained a PhD degree on anal cancer screening strategies at Universidade de São Paulo (2021) and an MPH degree with concentration in Epidemiology at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health (2023).
Her current research focuses on how the gut microbiome can affect patients' risk of developing complications after colorectal surgery, and whether it can be modulated by short-term dietary interventions.
Her previous work focused on prevention and early treatment of anal and rectal cancer, and on the interaction between HPV infection and anal neoplasia. -

Current Role at StanfordAs the leader of a team of professionals engaged in the provision of comprehensive student services Dr. Sanchez-Guzman is dedicated to proving leadership and direction for student programs ranging from orientation, advising, student wellness, learning strategies, financial aid to graduation as well as the transition to alumni status for both Medical and PhD students. In addition, Dr. Sanchez-Guzman is responsible for developing tools to measure the effectiveness of service delivery to all student groups, faculty, and staff. She has the distinct honor and privilege of managing a wonderful and amazing team within the Office of Medical Student Affairs and working with staff/ faculty partners and colleauges throughout Stanford University and nationwide.

Danielle Scarano

BioDanielle Scarano is a student in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program at Stanford School of Medicine. She led the development of science instructional content and resources for Newsela, an educational technology platform for students grades 2-12. Danielle also served as the Foundational Science Lead at Brilliant.org, where she led the development of the site's foundational science courses and content. Prior to her time at Brilliant, Danielle helped establish a school in the Bay Area. As the founding science teacher at Summit Tamalpais, she developed a project-based learning curriculum that engages students in scientific inquiry.

Jenny Clark Schiff

Fellow in SoM - Biomedical EthicsBioJenny Clark Schiff, Ph.D. is the Clinical Ethics Fellow at the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics. Jenny completed her Ph.D. in Philosophy at The Graduate Center of The City University of New York in 2024 (September conferral). Her dissertation focused on poorly understood medical conditions that are, in large part, “invisible” but can be profoundly disabling to patients (e.g. myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, Long COVID, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and irritable bowel syndrome). Jenny is interested in how to improve the doctor-patient relationship in settings of uncertainty, and how to better design medical institutions and medical education to care for patients with poorly understood medical conditions in a more just and humane manner. While pursuing her Ph.D., she was an Ethics Fellow, and then a Senior Ethics Fellow, at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Jenny has taught or assistant taught philosophy and bioethics courses to graduate students at New York University and undergraduate students at The City College of New York.
