Carly Janson is a certified executive and leadership coach, talent and organizational development expert, and mission-driven leader. Carly currently serves on the leadership team of the Career Management Center at Stanford Business School, where she oversees career development for all MBA and mid-career students and alumni. She leads Stanford Business School's Career and Life Design program, which she created in 2014 in partnership with Stanford d.school. She also serves as chair of New Sector Alliance, a mission-driven consulting and leadership development firm. Carly founded New Sector in 2000, served as CEO until 2013, and rejoined as board chair in 2017. She serves on the advisory boards of the GreenLight Fund and MannLab.
Carly started her career as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Accenture, where she worked with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to large public sector agencies. She was a co-founder of BCG’s Social Impact Practice and an adjunct faculty member at Harvard University. Carly has an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was awarded a Horace W. Goldsmith Fellowship for outstanding contributions to society. She also has a BA in economics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University. Carly’s hobbies include running, skiing, travel, and spending time with her husband, son, and daughter.
