Bio


Chuck Litchfield joined Stanford in 2013 after a 25 year naval career. Chuck was a Navy helicopter pilot receiving a commission from the United States Naval Academy where he earned a BS in Systems Engineering. He made numerous deployments aboard frigates and destroyers flying SH-60Bs, the Navy's Blackhawk. Between operational assignments, he attended US Navy Test Pilot School on a cooperative program with the Naval Postgraduate School where he earned an MS in aeronautical engineering. He commanded a helicopter squadron, the Grandmasters (HSL 46), and the amphibious assault carrier, USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). His financial management experience began as a budget program analyst in the Pentagon. In addition, he has an MBA from University of Colorado. He was Associate Vice Provost for Finance and Administration in VPUE until 2018. He was CFO of University of Colorado Colorado Springs until 2022. He rejoins Stanford as the Senior Associate Dean Chief Operating Officer of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
