Dario Del Sorbo is a Postdoc at the High Energy Density Sciences Division at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. His current research topic is the exploration and modeling of fundamental and collective manifestations of nonlinear quantum electrodynamics in strong electromagnetic fields. Dario received a bachelor and a master degree in physics at the University of Milano-Bicocca. He obtained his PhD in 2015 at the University of Bordeaux, working in the Centre Lasers Intenses et Applications. His project was focused on the inclusion of nonlocal kinetic effects in the hydrodynamic simulations of plasmas relevant for inertial confinement fusion. His first Postdoc was at the University of York, where he worked for two years on the modeling of laser-matter interactions at the highest intensity frontiers.
