Haik is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University, where he is developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic technologies for pediatric autism using computer vision and wearables. Haik completed his Doctorate in Computer Science in 2016 at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he researched wearable devices and algorithms for diet and nutrition monitoring. At UCLA, Haik was the 2016 recipient of the Edward K. Rice Outstanding Doctoral Student Award, awarded annually to a single graduating PhD student in the School of Engineering.
