Lourdes V. Andrade is the Executive Director, Faculty Engagement and Early Career Development Programs,
Director of the IDEAL Provostial Fellows Program
Office of Faculty Development, Diversity & Engagement (OFDDE)
Lourdes' role in the Office of Faculty Development, Diversity, and Engagement is focused on the development and socialization of tenure-line, early-career faculty across the university and directs the Ideal Provosital Fellows program.
Before joining the Office of Faculty Development, Diversity, and Engagement, Lourdes served as the Senior Director of Equity and Inclusion in the School of Engineering, as the Director of the Leland Scholars Program (LSP), and as the Director of Academic Policy & Support in VPUE.
Lourdes holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from UCSD and a Master of Arts in Education. She will begin the third year of the Ph.D. in the Higher Education Leadership Ph.D. program at Colorado State University.
She started her career in education as a bilingual elementary school teacher in San Diego. Lourdes has also worked with graduate students and adult learners at UC Irvine and De Anza Community College. Lourdes came to Stanford in 2001 and worked at the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP) as an advisor to teacher candidates. In addition, Lourdes served on the board of directors of a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts to youth and disadvantaged communities and on the Dual Language Advisory Board at her son's bilingual school. Lourdes and her family served as Resident Fellows in Trancos in Wilbur Hall from 2016-2020, where they oversaw a residential community focusing on issues related to equity and social justice.
