My research develops computational methods for large complex interconnected systems at all scales, from interactions of proteins in a cell to interactions between patients in a society. My approach is to leverage data at all levels of the organization and at the scale of billions of data points and develop new methods that combine rigorous statistical methodology, machine learning, and network science to achieve benefits from each.

I use my methods to address open challenges in biology and medicine that lead to highly impactful outcomes. Predictions made by my methods have helped uncover new biology and have directly contributed to new discoveries in the wet laboratory experiments.
