Priyanka Vyas, PhD is an associate with the Stanford Geospatial Center. Dr. Vyas has a PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy from the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences at the University of Texas, Dallas, and a postdoctoral training in tobacco control from the University of California, San Francisco .Her research interest lies at the intersection of public health, GIS, and urban planning and geography. On the domestic front, she has worked on understanding the spatial and contextual factors that drive variation in noncommunicable diseases. In particular she has worked on projects that link neighborhood environment and the influence of retail environment on influencing health behavior such as tobacco use. On the international front, She has worked on projects that seek to examine gaps in child immunization coverage in Bangladesh and understanding the role of GIS for public health decision-making in the context of LMIC.
