Bio

For the past two decades, I have worked with educational technologies, ranging from teaching in an online MOO (Multi-user Object-Oriented) domain to leading exploration of emerging technologies for teaching and learning. I have broad experience with tools and techniques for engaging faculty around technology-enhanced, student-centered learning. In my previous roles at both San Francisco State University and Virginia Tech, I provided oversight and led development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive range of grants and campus-borne initiatives that supported and advanced all modes of effective teaching and learning. Most recently I led support for hybrid and online curriculum development, active learning space design and experimentation, faculty professional development, affordable and open educational resources, ePortfolio initiatives, and Quality Learning & Teaching (QLT) peer review and certification. I also led the delivery of videography and multimodal communications services to promote instruction and faculty development programming and resources that directly address mission and values for the university.

In my role as Assistant Dean and Director of Educational Technology, I support Stanford Medicine’s full portfolio of programs spanning UME, GME, and CME, graduate studies, and clinical care, advancing leading edge teaching and learning for Stanford Medicine.
