Louie Nathaniel Turla Pinpin
REACH Postbaccalaureate Scholar, EPS - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Bio
I graduated from the University of California, Davis, where I majored in BS Cell Biology and minored in Asian American Studies. Prior to transferring, I attended Mission College, a community college in Santa Clara, CA, where I majored in biological sciences. I am broadly interested in developmental biology and plan to pursue a PhD in the future. I joined the REACH Initiative Postbaccalaureate Program in 2024 and currently work as a postbac in Will Goodyer's lab. In addition to science, I am equally passionate in contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in STEM academia and by making STEM academia be more supportive and encouraging, especially to scientists of color with immigrant and/or first-generation backgrounds.
