Bio


Marley Bauce joined Stanford in January 2023 as the Associate Director or the Geballe Laboratory for Advanced Materials (GLAM), one of 15 independent and transdisciplinary labs within the Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research. In this role, he provides managerial, financial, facilities, strategic planning, and research administrative support for GLAM’s faculty, trainees, and administrative staff, while optimizing the vibrancy, interconnectivity, and safety of materials research across the university.

Prior to joining Stanford, Marley spent a decade at Columbia University, first as the Director of Research Development within the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research, then most recently as the inaugural Associate Dean for Research at the Climate School, where he created and led an 11-person Office of Research spanning compliance, grants administration, federal affairs, and strategic initiatives. Over his tenure at Columbia, he directly supported and wrote “center grant” proposals awarded $100M+ in federal funding.

Marley has an MPA in Management & Finance from Columbia University, an MA in Environmental Studies from NYU, and a BA in Philosophy from Hampshire College.
