Personal Interests

Mathias enjoys weightlifting after work, usually on campus. He's been weightlifting since high school and enjoys the physical and mental challenges of the sport. Mathias also enjoys the great outdoors, and has been an avid hiker since his time in the Boy Scouts of America. Before working at Stanford, during his 20 years living in San Diego, CA, he hiked several mountains, valleys, and beaches across San Diego. He is currently studying at UC San Diego Extension. He also enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
