Bio
Diya Patel (from Apex, North Carolina) is a highly-motivated aspiring medical professional, who is passionate about bridging neuroscience research and mental health advocacy for community health and wellness. She received acceptance to the Stanford University Class of 2030 and serves as an advisor of the Stanford Neuroscience Journal Club programming for middle and high school students after being an alum and leader (moderator) of the high school club. She is currently a Duke Scholar and National Merit Scholar at Davidson College, and Diya is passionate about neuroscience, mindfulness, anthropology, among various other passions. She has served in various clinical environments as both paid and volunteer medical assistant and Spanish interpreter positions. Her passion for pursuing medicine is shown with her various involvements, three research publications, unique stories, and perspectives. Lastly, she was also admitted to several direct pathways to med programs (BS/MDs and BS/DO programs), but chose to study in the traditional path to gain more exposure and learn in a liberal arts environment.
