Alex John Cole
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Primary Care and Population Health
Bio
I’m a primary care provider in the Department of Primary Care and Population Health. My background includes an MHS from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, research on circulating genetic biomarkers, medical training at the University of Miami, and residency at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. As a family physician, I’m interested in team-based primary care for patients of all ages, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal medicine, care for people with disabilities, and women’s health. I’m also interested in how AI can support clinical care and medical education, and I enjoy teaching and mentoring learners. I hope to explore olfactory science and culinary approaches to health. I welcome opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in these areas. Outside of work, I enjoy discovering new places through food and the stories it tells, experimenting in the kitchen, hiking, and rock climbing.
