Maximilian Carl Friede

BioMaximilian Carl Friede was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1992. He moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2007 and a few years later to the Netherlands where he attended the University of Groningen BSc Economics. He transferred and finished his Bachelor's degree in Management, Art History, and Germanic Studies in Switzerland with distinction. During his undergraduate studies, Maximilian co-founded several financial, technology, and non-profit companies. After managing a few investment portfolios, Mr. Friede spent his professional career in banking (in Geneva, Switzerland), consulting, asset management, and financial controlling (in Hamburg, Germany). In 2018, Mr. Friede moved to Zurich, where he runs various private investment companies that also focus on PE and VC. Between 2020-2022 Maximilian studied at Harvard University (Harvard Business School) for his Master's Degree. Maximilian was an affiliate member of the Harvard Sailing and Golf Clubs. and is currently a part-time graduate student in Biomedicine at the Stanford School of Medicine and the Stanford School of Engineering.

BioResidency-trained, informatics pharmacist with 8+ years of experience in clinical & public health informatics. Formerly at Mayo Clinic where I led the product development and technical implementation of the antimicrobial stewardship and infection control programs through four electronic health record (Epic) implementations for 90 hospitals and clinics across four states. Was additionally responsible for delivery of new features in our antimicrobial stewardship product along with the strategic planning and execution of medications and microbiology value sets used in enterprise rules, reports, and population health registries. Experienced working on cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of clinical and technical stakeholders – translating clinical needs into technical solutions. An innovative leader that brings creative solutions to challenging problems using data-driven approaches from experience gained through healthcare practice, clinical informatics, and government. Specific interests include healthcare interoperability and infectious diseases.
