Ann Grimes
Program Assistant, Electrical EngineeringBioAnn Grimes directs the Journalism Program at the Starling Lab for Data Integrity, anchored in Stanford's School of Engineering and at USC. She also teaches in the Department of Electrical Engineering and is a Research Fellow in Stanford's Compression Forum. Her teaching and research focus on authenticity in digital media and information systems. She previously served as Director of Stanford's Graduate Program in Journalism, co-directed Stanford's Brown Institute for Media Innovation, held senior editorial positions at The Wall Street Journal and Washington Post, and was awarded a John S. Knight Fellowship. In addition to the Department of Electrical Engineering, she has taught courses in Computer Science, the Graduate School of Business, Department of Communication, and at Stanford's d.school.

My research employs behavioral, physiological, and brain measures to examine emotion-related personality processes and individual differences. My current interests include emotion coherence, specific emotion regulation strategies (reappraisal, suppression), automatic emotion regulation, and social anxiety.
