    BioNina Schloesser Tárano was born and grew up in Guatemala City. She received her MFA from Columbia University. Her work has appeared in Fence and The New Inquiry Magazine. She came to Stanford in 2010 as a Wallace Stegner Fellow in Fiction, and has been teaching in the Creative Writing Program since 2012.

    BioMichael Shewmaker is the recent winner of the Hollis Summers Poetry Prize and author of Penumbra (Ohio UP, 2017). His poems recently appear in Yale Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, Sewanee Review, Poetry Daily, Parnassus, Oxford American, Narrative, and elsewhere. Born in Texarkana, Texas, he earned an MFA from McNeese State University and a PhD in creative writing from Texas Tech University. He is a Jones Lecturer in poetry at Stanford University.

    Monica Sok

    BioMonica Sok is a Cambodian American poet and the daughter of refugees. She is the author of A NAIL THE EVENING HANGS ON (Copper Canyon Press, 2020). Her work has been recognized with a Discovery Prize from the 92nd Street Y Unterberg Poetry Center. She is the recipient of fellowships from Kundiman, Hedgebrook, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Elizabeth George Foundation, and others. Her poems appear in American Poetry Review, The Offing, Georgia Review, POETRY, Kenyon Review, the Margins, and New Republic. Currently, Sok is a Jones Lecturer at Stanford University and also teaches poetry at the Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants in Oakland, California. She is originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
