Seolhyun Lee, MD

BioDr. Lee is a nephrologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Nephrology Division of the Stanford Department of Medicine.
He delivers expert, compassionate kidney care personalized to each patient he serves. Dr. Lee is committed to improving both the health and quality of life of his patients.
His work scholarship has appeared in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Kidney Week, and Blood Purification.
Dr. Lee has received honors and awards including the prestigious Ben J. Lipps Research Fellowship from the American Society of Nephrology. The program funds original research projects by nephrology fellows. -
William Makana Lee

BioWilliam Lee is a fourth-year medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) pursuing a career in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His clinical interests include microsurgery, craniofacial reconstruction, and innovation in surgical education. As President of the EVMS Plastic Surgery Interest Group, he founded a funded summer research program, developed plastic surgery-specific educational resource, and expanded access to mentorship and research opportunities for his fellow medical students. His research, which focuses on surgical education, workforce trends, and emerging technologies such as augmented and virtual reality, has been presented at regional and national meetings. He was awarded the EVMS Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery 2025 Leadership Award and the 2026 Research Award for his work and commitment. William was also selected as a Cannon Scholar to attend the 2025 Annual AAPS Meeting in Austin, Texas.
Before medical school, William graduated as an Echols Scholar from the University of Virginia (2023) and served as a volunteer EMT for five years, an experience that inspired him to attend medical school. Outside of medicine, he enjoys tennis, long-distance running, rock-climbing, and mentoring students pursuing careers in surgery.
