BioMaia Winkel, MD is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Stanford School of Medicine. She completed the Stanford Physician Wellness Fellowship, as well as the Stanford Biodesign Faculty Fellowship and the Stanford Health Professions Education and Scholarship (SHAPES) Honors Scholar Program. Before fellowship, she completed residency at Jacobi/Montefiore Emergency Medicine in the Bronx, NY, where she was Chief Resident. She also holds a Master's in Bioethics from Columbia University. She is interested in physician wellness, workplace efficiency, medical ethics, procedural confidence and competence, and biodesign.
