Donghee Kim, MD, PhD

BioI am a physician with specialized training in gastroenterology and hepatology. My research primarily focuses on clinical research into metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), chronic liver diseases, and obesity-related gastrointestinal diseases, with a population-based study. In addition, my research has expanded to encompass cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, and psychiatry. I have extensive experience in large epidemiologic cohort studies as well as clinical trials. This work has resulted in over 300 published papers in prominent journals, including Gastroenterology, Journal of Hepatology, Gut, Hepatology, and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with the author serving as first or corresponding author. These publications have been cited more than 22000 times with an H-index of 73.

Nathan Geonwoo Kim, MD, MS

BioDr. Nathan Geonwoo Kim is a board-certified, fellowship-trained transplant hepatologist with Stanford Health Care. He is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Kim specializes in hepatology and liver transplantation (transplant hepatology). He cares for people with severe liver disease, such as cirrhosis, alcohol-associated hepatitis, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease. Dr. Kim also provides personalized liver cancer care, which may include targeted therapies or liver transplantation to achieve the best possible outcomes.
With a Master of Science in epidemiology and clinical research, Dr. Kim studies hepatocellular carcinoma and outcomes in chronic liver disease. His research focuses on ways to deliver better, more equitable care to people with liver diseases.

Paul Kwo
Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology and Hepatology)
BioDr. Kwo is currently Professor of Medicine and Director of Hepatology at the Stanford University where he joined the faculty in November 2016. Prior to joining the faculty at Stanford, he was at Indiana University for 21 years where he served as the Medical Director of Liver Transplantation. He has distinguished himself in the field of Hepatitis C therapeutics and has been the principal investigator on multiple international trials. He recently authored the ACG Clinical Guideline: Evaluation of Abnormal Liver Chemistries.
