BioStella Hartono, MD PhD is a board-certified allergy/immunology physician and clinical researcher. She specializes in diagnosing and treating immunology and allergic conditions, with a focus on immunodeficiency, immune dysregulation, hyper eosinophilia, and pet allergies.
Dr. Hartono’s clinical research focuses on the role of age-associated B cells in vaccine response and the aging immune system. She is also interested in improving diagnosis and treatment options for patients with CVID (common variable immunodeficiency) and SAD (specific antibody deficiency). She has published her original research in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at national conferences, including annual meetings for the Clinical Immunology Society and the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology, as well as international conferences, including annual meeting for the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Michelle Huffaker, MD

BioDr. Michelle Huffaker is a board-certified, fellowship-trained allergist and immunologist with Stanford Health Care. She is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Huffaker specializes in diagnosing and treating allergies and health conditions that affect the immune system. She is particularly interested in asthma, food allergies, and allergic rhinitis.
Dr. Huffaker’s research is focused on treatments that achieve long-lasting remission for allergic and immunologic diseases, such as food allergies and allergic rhinitis. Dr. Huffaker is the director of clinical and translational medicine for the allergy portfolio of the Immune Tolerance Network (ITN), a clinical research consortium funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The ITN focuses on achieving immune tolerance in conditions where the body attacks healthy cells (immune-mediated diseases). Dr. Huffaker leads the development, conduct, and analysis of ITN clinical trials.
Dr. Huffaker has published her research in peer-reviewed journals, such as Allergy, The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and World Allergy Organization Journal. She has presented to her peers at international, national, and regional meetings, including those of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI), and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI).
Dr. Huffaker is a fellow of AAAAI and a member of AAAAI, EAACI, and the Western Society of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. -
Shirley Jiang, MD

BioDr. Shirley Jiang is a fellowship-trained, board-certified allergist and immunologist with the Stanford Health Care Allergy, Asthma, and Immunodeficiency Clinic in Atherton. She is also a clinical assistant professor of allergy and immunology in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Jiang diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions, including allergies, asthma, eczema, hives, and immunodeficiencies. She specializes in food allergies, medication allergies such as those to penicillin and other antibiotics, and chemotherapy allergies. For each of her patients, she offers a comprehensive care plan tailored to the individual.
Dr. Jiang’s research interests include evaluating quality-of-life issues related to food allergies, with an emphasis on underserved populations. She is also working with her colleagues to build out and validate a novel chemotherapy desensitization program for patients with cancer who have allergic reactions to chemotherapy.
Dr. Jiang has published her research in peer-reviewed journals such as Allergy, Frontiers in Immunology, The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice, and Clinical Reviews in Allergy and Immunology. She has also presented to her peers at international, national, and regional meetings, including the annual meetings of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI), and the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Foundation of Northern California (AAIFNC).
Dr. Jiang is a member of the AAAAI and the ACAAI. She serves as a member of the ACAAI Drug Allergy Committee, working on building out resources for penicillin allergy delabeling for allergists and primary care doctors. She also serves as a member of the AAAAI Adverse Reactions to Drugs, Biologicals, and Vaccines Committee and Adverse Reactions to Foods Committee. -
Andrea Jonas

BioDr. Andrea Jonas is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University. She completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry and physics at Harvard University. She received her MD from Johns Hopkins University, where she stayed on to complete residency training in internal medicine on the Osler Medical Service. She pursued fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Stanford University, where she additionally completed a research fellowship in health care innovation and systems design as part of the Clinical Excellence Research Center. Her research interests include integrating technological innovations into healthcare system practices to improve delivery of pulmonary and ICU services.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur research program has several active projects:
1.) Pulmonary Vascular Disease Simvastatin reversed experimental pulmonary hypertension, and is safe for treatment of patients. Blinded clinical trials of efficacy are in progress.
2.) Lung inflammation and regeneration (stem cells)
3.) Lung surfactant rheology and oxidative stress
4.) Gene regulation by RNA binding proteins, NF45 and NF90 through transcriptional and posttranscriptional mechanisms
