    BioDr. Erpeng Dai mainly focuses on technique development for high-resolution and high-efficiency diffusion MRI (dMRI). Previously, he optimized the navigator acquisition for multi-shot interleaved EPI dMRI and further combined it with simultaneous multi-slice (SMS) for improved scan efficiency. Meanwhile, he also merged SMS and multi-slab techniques to achieve high-resolution isotropic imaging. Currently, Erpeng Dai is mainly working on developing high-fidelity and high-resolution dMRI, cortical dMRI and microstructure studies.

    BioAli Anil Demircali received B.Sc, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechatronics Engineering at Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2015, 2017, and 2021, respectively. Then he pursued his career in optical hollow-core fiber development at the Hamlyn Center for Robotic Surgery in Imperial College London, United Kingdom between 2021 and 2022. He is currently doing a second Post. Doc. in the Department of Radiology, Molecular Imaging Programme (MIPS) at Stanford University, USA. Currently, he is working on magnetically levitated cancer cell separation and sorting with high throughput, and its application on wearable devices. His main areas of research interest are not limited to but include Micro-Nano Robotics and Fluidics, Mechanical Design and Optimization, Magnetic Levitation, and Sensory Systems.

    BioI am a postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford School of Medicine in the Department of Radiology. My primary research focus is in the development of cutting-edge technological innovations for imaging and noninvasive targeted drug delivery based on ultrasound. I strive to implement tools with high potential for clinical translation and aim at producing a substantial impact on the clinical practice.

    At the moment, I am working on the systematic and noninvasive manipulation of the nervous system by using focused ultrasound combined with ultrasound-activated drug carriers. In addition, I am implementing functional imaging of brain-wide neuronal activity based on power Doppler ultrasound as a readout of the neuromodulation.

    Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy work aims to integrate multimodal ex vivo imaging data, including histology, specimen MRI, and advanced microscopy to characterize iron-mediated neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease. The ultimate goal of this work is to better understand the complex pathological picture of Alzheimer's disease and translate these ex vivo findings to in vivo MRI and MR/PET of patients to identify and develop robust imaging-based biomarkers of disease and identify novel therapeutic targets.
