Christoph Leuze
Physical Science Research Scientist, Rad/Radiological Sciences Laboratory
BioDr. Leuze is working on techniques for visualization of MRI data using virtual and augmented reality devices. He has developed an MRI viewer for the Samsung Gear VR and has presented projects on MRI data volumetric visualization and registration to the real world using the Microsoft Hololens and the Intel RealSense camera. Dr. Leuze is furthermore refining MRI techniques for measuring brain circuits by validation with tissue clearing and optical imaging methods.

On Leave from 04/01/2023 To 06/30/2023Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy lab's research involves the function, degeneration and repair of musculoskeletal soft tissues, with a focus on meniscal fibrocartilage and articular cartilage. We are particularly interested in the complex interactions between biophysical and biochemical cues in controlling cell behavior, the roles of these interactions in degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis, and development of tissue engineered 3D model systems for studying physical influences on primary and progenitor cells.

Congyu Liao
Instructor, Radiology
BioCongyu Liao is an Instructor in the Division of Radiological Sciences Laboratory (RSL). Dr. Liao received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Zhejiang University in China in 2018. Following the completion of his PhD, he was appointed Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University under Kawin Setsompop, PhD, where his research was focused on improving the efficiency of data acquisition/reconstruction in MRI. In 2021, he came to Stanford to join Dr. Setsompop’s lab as a Postdoctoral Scholar in RSL where his research is focused on developing new technology for diffusion and quantitative MRI. Dr. Liao has received many awards including the Summa Cum Laude Merit Award from the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and the Outstanding Research Award from the Overseas Chinese Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.

Margaret Chin-Chin Lin
Clinical Associate Professor, Radiology
BioDr. Margaret Lin is a board certified radiologist with subspecialty training in thoracic and cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Lin specializes in diseases affecting the lungs and airways, including cancer, infection, and interstitial and inhalational lung diseases. Her clinical expertise also includes diseases of the cardiovascular system, such as coronary artery disease, aortic dissection and aneurysm, and pulmonary thromboembolic disease. As an Associate Program Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Stanford, Dr. Lin focuses on resident education and development of curricula and new educational tools.
