BioI received my PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Bioengineering from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2021. My Ph.D. thesis was about the design, fabrication of microfluidic devices for separating circulating tumor cells from blood. During my Ph.D., I joined Prof. Ali Khademhossini's Lab at the University of California, Los Angeles and Terasaki Institute for Biomedical innovation for two years as a visiting researcher. Following my PhD, I joined Prof. Anna Herland’s lab at KTH Royal Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral researcher from Sep. 2021 for two years. In Herland’s lab my research focused on the investigation of the brain energy metabolism using a Brain-on-a-chip model integrated with metabolic biosensors.
Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral researcher at Prof. Pratx's lab in Radiation Oncology Department at Stanford University. My current research focuses on developing an advanced Tumor-on-a-chip model for drug screening applications.
