Yogin Patel
Clinical Instructor, Surgery - Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
BioYogin Patel was born and raised in New Jersey. After attending Rutgers University-New Brunswick for his undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences, he went on to obtain a Master's in Biomedical Science with a Concentration in Oral Biology at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Newark, N.J., in their dental scholars' track. He then completed a research year at New York University College of Dentistry in the NYU Bluestone Center for Clinical Research within the Cancer Pain Laboratory. Here, Dr. Patel helped conduct studies centered around oral cancer pain and sparked his initial interest and appreciation for oral and maxillofacial surgery, translational research, and working alongside dental specialists and research scientists to achieve better patient outcomes. Dr. Patel attended dental school at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. More recently, Dr. Patel completed a General Practice Residency program within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), providing dental care for a range of medically complex patients within the hospital setting within the various clinical training sites at UCSF Health.
Dr. Patel looks forward to expanding his experience in the topics of maxillofacial trauma and dental trauma, oral pathology and oncology, odontogenic infections, orofacial pain, and dentoalveolar surgery this next year in his role as a Dental Medicine and Surgery Fellow.
