Aglaia Kaissa de Boer
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine
BioKaïssa de Boer, MD is a board certified pulmonologist who specializes in the care of patients with interstitial lung disease. She completed her Internal Medicine and Pulmonary training at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada where her initial interest in caring for patients with fibrotic lung disease first developed. Subsequently she completed a fellowship in Interstitial Lung Disease at the University of California, San Francisco under the direction of Dr. Harold Collard. Dr. de Boer has a special interest in patients with connective tissue disease associated lung disease and those with drug induced pneumonitis. In addition she is actively involved in the ILD training and program development of Stanford's Pulmonary Allergy and Critical Care Fellows.

Vinicio de Jesus Perez MD
Associate Dean of Stanford MD Admissions and Professor of Medicine (PACCM)
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive pulmonary vascular disease, particularly pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). I study how endothelial dysfunction, impaired vascular repair, pericyte abnormalities, inflammation, and metabolic dysregulation contribute to pulmonary vascular remodeling and right ventricular failure. Through the integration of human tissue studies, advanced Omics technologies, and translational animal models, my work aims to identify novel th

Tushar Desai
Professor of Medicine (Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine)
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsBasic and translational research in lung stem cell biology, cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, COPD, and acute lung injury/ARDS. Upper airway stem cell CRISPR gene correction followed by autologous stem cell transplantation to treat Cystic fibrosis. Using lung organoids and precision cut lung slice cultures of mouse and human lungs to study molecular regulation of lung stem cells. Using transgenic mice to visualize Wnt protein transmission from niche cell to stem cell in vivo.

Gundeep Dhillon, MD, MPH
Associate Professor of Medicine (Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine)
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Dhillon’s research is closely aligned with his clinical and programmatic work, with the goal of translating population-level insights into real-world improvements in donor utilization, patient selection, and care delivery. His work increasingly focuses on how data-driven approaches can inform not only individual transplant decisions but also the design of scalable systems of care for advanced lung disease.

Berrin Er
Affiliate, Medicine - Med/Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine
Visiting Scholar, Medicine - Med/Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care MedicineBioBerrin Er, M.D., is a physician and visiting scholar in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine. She graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine and completed her residency training as well as a critical care fellowship at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey.
As a visiting researcher, Dr. Er integrates her clinical expertise with advanced computational methods. Her research focuses on interstitial lung diseases, with an emphasis on radiomics, and on analyzing diverse datasets related to respiratory diseases using data-driven approaches. Her work aims to enhance disease characterization and support clinical decision-making.

Amit Gohil
Clinical Associate Professor (Affiliated), Medicine - Med/Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine
Staff, Medicine - Med/Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care MedicineBioMy main practice is at County Hospital of Santa Clara, where my time is split between Pulmonary Clinic, Pulmonary Physiology Lab and Medical Intensive Care.
Other Clinical Interests include neurocritical care, Mab therapy for asthma,. and management of toxin induced pulmonary hypertension
My research interests are moving into the use of Data Science to answer clinical questions. I am currently in the process of becoming familiar with R as a coding language to examine large clinical data sets and hope to move into machine learning algorithms to improve the pulmonary health of our county population. -
Stella Hartono
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine
BioStella Hartono, MD PhD is a board-certified allergy/immunology physician and clinical researcher. She specializes in diagnosing and treating immunology and allergic conditions, with a focus on immunodeficiency, immune dysregulation, hyper eosinophilia, and pet allergies.
Dr. Hartono’s clinical research focuses on the role of age-associated B cells in vaccine response and the aging immune system. She is also interested in improving diagnosis and treatment options for patients with CVID (common variable immunodeficiency) and SAD (specific antibody deficiency). She has published her original research in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at national conferences, including annual meetings for the Clinical Immunology Society and the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology, as well as international conferences, including annual meeting for the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Hartono is a member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology, the Clinical Immunology Society, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. -
