    BioDr. Harmeet Bedi is the Director of Interventional Pulmonology & Bronchoscopy at Stanford University. His expertise is in minimally invasive techniques used in the diagnosis and treatment of various airway and lung diseases such as lung cancer, benign & malignant airway obstruction, and pleural diseases. He specializes in rigid & flexible bronchoscopy, robotic bronchoscopy, airway stent placement, balloon bronchoplasty, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and various pleural procedures. He also specializes in a variety of tumor ablative therapies including laser therapy, electrocautery, argon plasma coagulation (APC), brachytherapy, and cryotherapy.

    He founded the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) - guided bronchoscopy program at Stanford in 2019. CBCT-guided bronchoscopy is a novel and cutting-edge technique which combines bronchoscopy with CT imaging, allowing for improved localization and diagnosis of peripheral lung nodules. Additionally, CBCT-guided bronchoscopy will allow for numerous potential cancer therapies that are currently under development.

    Dr. Bedi is a principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple clinical trials related to bronchoscopy, thoracic imaging, pulmonary nodules, and lung cancer. Specifically, he has multiple research interests within the realm of bronchoscopic device innovation and CBCT-guided bronchoscopy.

    BioDr. Chen is a board-certified, fellowship-trained specialist in allergy and immunology and internal medicine. She is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

    With training in pediatric and adult allergy/immunology, Dr. Chen provides expertise in food allergy, chronic urticaria, angioedema, and allergic rhinitis. She excels at addressing the impact of allergies on quality of life and productivity among the general population.

    Driven by a desire to help people and deliver exceptional care, Dr. Chen takes great pride in the effectiveness and efficiency of her services, her attention to detail, and the excellent patient satisfaction scores she earns. She has trained and worked in a broad range of clinical care settings, including private practice, the Veterans Administration, major health systems, and academic medical centers, like Stanford Health Care.

    Dr. Chen has extensive research experience, from study start-up to manuscript preparation. She has conducted clinical research, including the evaluation of heated milk and egg protein tolerance in milk and egg allergic patients, as well as clinical trials for other novel treatments for food allergy. Dr. Chen has authored numerous scholarly publications on topics including food allergy, urticaria, and angioedema. She has presented the findings of her research to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Annual Scientific Meeting and other conferences.

    Her work has appeared in the journals Pediatric Allergy; the Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology; JAMA; as well as book chapters on immunology.

    Dr. Chen has received honors and awards for her scholarship. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology; the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology; and, the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Foundation of Northern California. She has volunteered her clinical services at homeless shelters in the Bay Area.

    BioKaïssa de Boer, MD is a board certified pulmonologist who specializes in the care of patients with interstitial lung disease. She completed her Internal Medicine and Pulmonary training at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada where her initial interest in caring for patients with fibrotic lung disease first developed. Subsequently she completed a fellowship in Interstitial Lung Disease at the University of California, San Francisco under the direction of Dr. Harold Collard. Dr. de Boer has a special interest in patients with connective tissue disease associated lung disease and those with drug induced pneumonitis. In addition she is actively involved in the ILD training and program development of Stanford's Pulmonary Allergy and Critical Care Fellows.

Using lung organoids and precision cut lung slice cultures of mouse and human lungs to study molecular regulation of lung stem cells. Using transgenic mice to visualize Wnt protein transmission from niche cell to stem cell in vivo.

    3. Impact of airway hypoxia, due to lack of bronchial circulation, on long-term lung transplant outcomes.
    4. CMV specific T-cell immunity in lung transplant recipients and its impact on acute rejection.

    BioDr. Eggert is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pulmonologist and a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

    She is an expert in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the airway, with a focus on patients with allergic asthma. She also treats chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), and chronic cough.

    For every patient, Dr. Eggert develops a comprehensive care plan personalized to the individual’s unique needs and lifestyle. Her goals are always to deliver innovative, compassionate care of the highest quality to help each patient achieve the best possible outcome and quality of life.

    Dr. Eggert has extensive research experience. During her fellowship, she worked closely with the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University, where she designed projects to study the use of biologic medications to treat severe asthma, ABPA, and related conditions.

    Dr. Eggert has authored review articles on asthma in adults for BMJ Best Practice. She has developed abstracts related to the prediction of asthma outcomes and switching and combining biologic therapies for asthma. She has presented her work at the American Thoracic Society and the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology annual meetings.

    She is currently involved in several COVID-19 related research projects, including a study of the impact of COVID-19 on outcomes for asthmatic patients and another on the use of pulse oximeters to predict clinical decline after COVID-19 diagnosis.

    Dr. Eggert also practices critical care at Stanford Health Care - ValleyCare and is actively engaged in teaching residents and fellows. She precepts both the Stanford Pulmonary Consult Service and the fellow’s clinics.

    BioDr. Andrea Jonas is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University. She completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry and physics at Harvard University. She received her MD from Johns Hopkins University, where she stayed on to complete residency training in internal medicine on the Osler Medical Service. She pursued fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Stanford University, where she additionally completed a research fellowship in health care innovation and systems design as part of the Clinical Excellence Research Center. Her research interests include integrating technological innovations into healthcare system practices to improve delivery of pulmonary and ICU services.

    Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur research program has several active projects:
    1.) Pulmonary Vascular Disease – Simvastatin reversed experimental pulmonary hypertension, and is safe for treatment of patients. Blinded clinical trials of efficacy are in progress.
    2.) Lung inflammation and regeneration (stem cells)
    3.) Lung surfactant rheology and oxidative stress
    4.) Gene regulation by RNA binding proteins, NF45 and NF90 through transcriptional and posttranscriptional mechanisms
