Priscila Ferreira Slepicka
Postdoctoral Scholar, Stem Cell Transplantation
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy postdoctoral research focuses on investigating (a) the molecular mechanisms underlying the athymic development of iPSCs from patients with 22q11 syndrome, and (b) integrating transcriptomics and epigenomics to understand thymic epithelial cell development from iPSC-derived cells.

Jason Szafron
Postdoctoral Scholar, Cardiology
BioJason Szafron is a Parker B. Francis Fellow in the lab of Alison Marsden co-mentored by Marlene Rabinovitch studying growth and remodeling in the pulmonary vasculature. He completed his PhD in biomedical engineering at Yale University as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, where his dissertation work focused on the design of tissue engineered vascular grafts for use in the Fontan procedure. His long-term research goal is to use validated computer models to understand disease origins and develop novel treatment approaches for cardiovascular disease.

Curisa M. Tucker
Postdoctoral Scholar, Neonatal and Developmental Medicine
BioCurisa Tucker, PhD, RN is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Suzan Carmichael. Her research interests are centered around maternal health equity, social determinants of health and severe maternal morbidity. Dr. Tucker has over 10 years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse. She has also taught nursing students for 5 years. Dr. Tucker received her PhD in Nursing Science, where her dissertation used Medical Expenditure Panel Survey Data to examine the impact of patient-centered medical homes and personally mediated racism measures on severe maternal morbidity outcomes.

Praveesh Valissery
Postdoctoral Scholar, Infectious Diseases
BioPraveesh completed his Ph.D. at Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India). He has experience in organic chemical synthesis and molecular biology. Under the supervision of Prof. Suman Kumar Dhar, he studied the cell cycle of the malaria parasite (Plasmodium falciparum) and worked on the optimization of water-soluble Artemisinin nanopreparations in the mouse model of malaria (Plasmodium berghei). He also helped in the synthesis and characterization of a novel class of hybrid antimalarial drug, CQ-CFX. In the Egan lab, Praveesh is interested in exploring essential host-parasite interactions taking place at the surface of the red blood cell during invasion. In the long term, he hopes to acquire enough skill to study and develop antimalarial vaccine antigens and improve existing vaccine formulations.
