Current Role at StanfordAs the curator or subject specialist for the Germanic collections and for medieval studies, I select new materials and provide reference assistance; I also work with faculty and students to help them find the materials that they need for their research and teaching.
The Germanic Collections include materials for research and instruction in literature and linguistics, cultural studies, history, and social studies. The geographic scope of these collections includes the Scandinavian countries, Flemish-speaking Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands; however, the primary collecting areas are Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland. -

BioI have served as the Curator for American and British History at Stanford Libraries since 2005. From 2016 to the present, I also serve as Associate Director in the Department of Special Collections, where I help to oversee teaching and outreach activities.

Current Role at StanfordI develop and maintain Stanford University LibrariesÂ’ collections of current, rare, and antiquarian materials in all formats in French and Italian languages in all areas of research, and about France, its colonies, and Italy in all languages. I provide bibliographical reference support and instruction on French and Italian subjects to faculty and students at all levels. In conjunction with faculty members, students, and colleagues, I participate in the planning and execution of projects such a digitization, exhibits, and programing, using materials in the French and Italian collections, .
I also lead the Humanities and Area Studies Resource Group, the team of humanities and foreign language librarians at Stanford University Libraries. -
Kristen Valenti
Exhibits Coordinator, Silicon Valley Archives, Humanities Resource Group
BioKristen Valenti is the Exhibits Coordinator for the Silicon Valley Archives (SVA) at Stanford University Libraries and is responsible for the Hohbach Hall Exhibitions Program. The SVA is a unit of the History of Science & Technology Collections in the Humanities and Area Studies Resource Group. She designs, develops, and produces visitor-centered exhibitions and programs that create opportunities for object-based learning and foster discussion.
Kristen earned an MA in Museum Education from Tufts University, as well as a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Stockton University. -
