Anusha Chandrakanthan
Clinical Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
BioDr. Anusha Chandrakanthan is a clinical instructor in psychiatry. She is a family practice physician who is board certified in Addiction Medicine. Previously, she was the medical director for a company that provided substance use treatment using telemedicine. Presently, she works with the Valley Homeless Healthcare Program at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center providing services to a marginalized population. She also continues to teach at the Stanford Addiction Medicine fellowship.

1) to better understand and treat patients with aggressive basal and squamous cell carcinomas
2) to better understand the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of healthy human skin aging and to translate these insights into better care of skin diseases enriched in older patients particularly skin cancer and rosacea -
Crystal Chang, D.D.S.
Clinical Assistant Professor, Surgery - Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
BioDr. Crystal Chang is a Hospital Dentist and Clinical Assistant Professor in Dental Medicine & Surgery. She focuses on maintaining oral health through the management of infection, trauma and secondary comorbidities to the dentition and its supporting structures. She performs medically necessary dental surgery in the context of cardiac disease, orthopedic surgery, cancer therapy and organ transplants. Dr. Chang is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and provides oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea.

Felix Chang, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Neurology & Neurological Sciences
BioDr. Felix Chang's clinical practice mainly involves intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM) and the treatment of neurological disorders with botulinum toxin. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his neurology residency at the Harvard Neurology Program at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He then went on to complete a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology with a focus in intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring at Stanford.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur research is focused on how the activities of hundreds or even thousands of genes (gene parties) are coordinated to achieve biological meaning. We have pioneered methods to predict, dissect, and control large-scale gene regulatory programs; these methods have provided insights into human development, cancer, and aging.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy role in research is to apply novel advances in tissue engineering and microsurgery to the clinical problems of hand trauma, peripheral nerve injuries, and congenital hand problems. I am interested in developing new tissues and techniques that will allow optimal reconstruction of form and function to those patients requiring reconstructive surgery.

Julia J. Chang, MD

Clinical Assistant Professor (By courtesy), NeurosurgeryBioDr. Chang is a board-certified endocrinologist and internal medicine doctor. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Stanford Medicine’s Division of Endocrinology, Gerontology, and Metabolism. She specializes in transgender health, pituitary disorders, diabetes, and general endocrine disorders.
She provides patient care at the Stanford Health Care Endocrinology Clinic and the Stanford Health Care LGBTQ+ Health Program. For each patient, she develops a comprehensive, compassionate care plan personalized to individual needs. Her goal is always the best possible health and quality of life for every patient in her care.
Dr. Chang leads quality improvement and education initiatives within the endocrinology and pituitary team. She teaches medical students, residents, and fellows and serves as the associate program director for the Stanford endocrinology fellowship.
Dr. Chang has conducted extensive research and has published peer-reviewed articles on obesity, weight loss, and transgender health in the journals Endocrine Practice, Family Medicine, and Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine. She has presented the findings of her research at national meetings of the Endocrine Society and United States Professional Association of Transgender Health.
She is a member of the Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, Pituitary Society, and the World Professional Association of Transgender Health.
As a volunteer, Dr. Chang has guided medical students providing health care to uninsured residents of the Bay Area.
When not providing clinical care, teaching, or conducting research, Dr. Chang enjoys time with her family, violin, golf, figure skating, and travel.
She is a native English speaker and also understands Korean. -

Michael Chang, MD
Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck surgery (OHNS)
BioDr. Chang is a board-certified, Stanford fellowship-trained otolaryngologist providing care at Stanford Health Care’s Sinus Center. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.
He specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of nasal, sinus, and skull base disorders. Dr. Chang is also interested in the use of online digital media for ear, nose, and throat (ENT)-related educational content. He is the rhinology host for Headmirror’s ENT in a Nutshell podcast and served as education consulting for the rhinology section of DosedDaily.
Dr. Chang’s research interests include new endoscopic imaging technologies, machine learning applications in healthcare, and outcomes for various medical and surgical treatments for sinus and skull base disorders.
Dr. Chang has published in several high-impact journals, such as Clinical Cancer Research, JAMA Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, and International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology. He serves as a journal peer reviewer for Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology; The Laryngoscope; World Journal of Otorhinolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery; and Ear, Nose & Throat Journal.
He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the North American Skull Base Society, and the American Rhinologic Society. He serves on the American Rhinologic Society’s Patient Advocacy Committee. -

Spencer Chang
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Primary Care and Population Health
BioDr. Spencer Chang is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who practices at the Stanford Internal Medicine Clinic in Palo Alto. Dr. Chang earned his MD at Duke University School of Medicine where he was part of the Primary Care Leadership Track. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at UCLA in the Primary Care Program. Dr. Chang has interests in medical education, improving access to primary care, community health, and Asian Pacific Islander health disparities. He believes in a holistic approach to patient care, addressing the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of his patients and partnering with them to achieve their health goals.
