Research - Post-Bacc, Ethics In SocietyBioLouie is a Research Associate in the Technology Ethics & Policy Rising Scholars Program at the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society. Louie works with the Embedded Ethics team to weave ethical reflection into the core computer science courses at Stanford, investigating its effectiveness. He is particularly interested in how institutional frameworks shape underrepresented students’ engagement with ethical reflection in technology, and how research can inform more inclusive approaches to technical education across academic spaces. Louie is a first-generation graduate from UC Berkeley, where he received his bachelor's degree in Data Science with a concentration in Philosophy.

Islam Osman
Ph.D. Student in Civil and Environmental Engineering, admitted Autumn 2026
BioCivil and Environmental Engineering PhD student in the Osman Lab at Stanford University. I earned my BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, where I also served as a Research and Teaching Assistant. My previous research focused on quantity and cost estimation for wastewater infrastructure, and I have two years of experience in program management consulting. Outside of academia, I represented Egypt at the World Scout Jamboree, and in my free time, I enjoy walking, reading, journaling, and thoughtful conversations.
