BioI am a medical physicist and imaging scientist with over a decade of experience in CT imaging, algorithm development, and AI-driven reconstruction. I earned my Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I developed novel artifact corrections and reconstruction algorithms for cone beam computed tomography, focusing on applications in breast cancer diagnosis and image-guided radiation therapy.
Following my doctoral studies, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Stanford Cancer Imaging Training (SCIT) Program. Currently, I serves as a Senior Research Scientist in the Radiological Sciences Laboratory at Stanford University. My research focuses on developing advanced clinical translational x-ray and CT imaging systems, including algorithm design for tomographic reconstruction, artifact correction, and image processing for various imaging modalities. -

Rizwan Hassan Shinwari
Visiting Instructor, Neurosurgery
BioRizwan Hassan Shinwari is a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Stanford University. His research focuses on the clinical outcomes and adverse effects associated with stereotactic radiosurgery, with the goal of optimizing patient care and advancing neurosurgical precision.

BioJosh Shiode is Managing Director of the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology (KIPAC), a joint institute of Stanford University and the SLAC National Laboratory. Prior to joining KIPAC, Josh served as Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff in the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science, under the leadership of then Director Asmeret Asefaw Berhe. Josh received his PhD in astrophysics from UC Berkeley in 2013, and subsequently worked in a variety of science and technology policy roles in Washington, DC, including with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Anne Marion Shulock
Assistant Vice President for the Arts, Office of the Vice President for the Arts
BioAnne Shulock, the assistant vice president for the arts at Stanford University, provides leadership and support to advance a cohesive, distinctive vision for the arts at Stanford. She is responsible for evaluating the portfolio of non-academic arts offerings on campus (Anderson Collection, Cantor Arts Center, Stanford Live, Stanford Arts Institute, the Institute for Diversity in the Arts, and the public art program), coordinating efforts across units, and operationalizing a strategy for future creative and artistic endeavors at Stanford. She also provides crucial support to the vice present for the arts in further articulating and implementing the priorities of the arts at Stanford, fostering collaboration across the university’s arts programs, and integrating the arts into many facets of student, campus, and community life.
Shulock is an experienced arts administrator dedicated to serving students, artists, educators, and audiences in pursuit of meaningful creative experiences. Prior to joining Stanford in 2019, she worked at the San Francisco Art Institute, an influential art college with a legacy of experimentation and innovation. As chief of staff in the Office of the President, Shulock partnered with the senior leadership team and Board of Trustees to coordinate and successfully drive institutional initiatives, including the opening of SFAI’s graduate campus within the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Prior to becoming chief of staff, she served as senior assistant to the president for strategic planning and communications and held several key roles within SFAI’s marketing department. Shulock was also a contributing editor for Art Practical, a publishing platform that enriched critical dialogue for the visual arts, emphasizing amplifying diverse voices and underrepresented perspectives. She began her career as a reporter for Sactown magazine in her hometown of Sacramento, writing arts and entertainment coverage. -
Pilleriin Sikka
Basic Life Research Scientist, Multispecialty Anesthesiology
BioDr. Pilleriin Sikka is a Research Scientist at Stanford University School of Medicine, in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. She is also affiliated with the Department of Psychology at Stanford University. Prior to joining her current role, she completed postdoctoral training in the Heifets Lab in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine and in the Stanford Psychophysiology Laboratory, directed by Dr. James J. Gross.
Dr. Sikka received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Turku (Finland), MSc degree in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford (UK), and BSc as well as MSc degrees in Psychology (with specializations in Clinical Psychology and Organizational Psychology) from Tallinn University (Estonia). She has received several prestigious research and teaching awards and secured competitive grants (e.g., Tiny Blue Dot Foundation, Mind Science Foundation) as both principal and co-investigator. With more than a decade of teaching experience, Pilleriin has designed and taught courses in psychology and neuroscience and has mentored numerous undergraduate and master’s students, and is currently supervising several PhD students. In parallel with her research at Stanford, she is also affiliated with the University of Skövde (Sweden) as a Senior Lecturer in Cognitive Neuroscience and with the University of Turku (Finland) as a Researcher.
Dr. Sikka's research integrates psychology, neuroscience, and anesthesiology to understand how experiences—particularly those arising during altered states of consciousness (i.e., sleep and dreaming, anesthesia, psychedelic states)—produce lasting psychological change and how these mechanisms can be translated into innovative, evidence-based interventions for mental health, well-being, and perioperative care. -
