Andrew Beel
Instructor, Structural Biology
BioAndrew Beel received an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford, where he studied the structure and condensation of the eukaryotic chromosome under the supervision of Roger Kornberg. He started his independent research program in late 2022 after receiving an Early Independence Award from the Office of the Director of the National Institutes of Health. His group is broadly interested in mesoscale biological organization and the physical underpinnings thereof, with a current emphasis on the axial core of the metaphase chromosome. The Beel lab is actively recruiting new members at all stages of training; interested parties are encouraged to apply (please direct inquiries to beelaj@stanford.edu).

Jose Behar
MBA, expected graduation 2028
BioI’m from Lima, Peru, and a member of Stanford GSB’s MBA Class of 2028. Before Stanford, I worked across private equity, investment banking, and asset management.
Most recently, I was an Investments Associate at GRIO, the investment office of Grupo Romero (Peru), where I worked on M&A, co-investments alongside global private equity funds, alternative investments, and strategic initiatives across portfolio companies. Earlier in my career, I worked in investment banking and capital markets.
At Stanford, I’m excited to deepen my experience in private equity and entrepreneurial finance, while exploring how investing can help build and scale businesses in Latin America and beyond.
Outside of work, I’m a big soccer fan and enjoy mentoring, traveling, and meeting people from different backgrounds. Always happy to talk investing, business ideas, soccer, or anything Latin America-related.
