Rachele M Pojednic
Lecturer
BioRachele Pojednic, PhD, EdM, FACSM is a Lecturer (Adjunct) in the Human Biology Department and the Director of Education at Stanford Lifestyle Medicine. In addition to her academic appointments, Dr Pojednic is also the Chief Science Officer at Restore Hyperwellness. Her current research examinees nutrition, supplementation and physical activity interventions on muscle physiology, performance and recovery. She also examines educational models for healthcare professionals focused on nutrition and exercise. Dr Pojednic has received NIH research funding from the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the Vermont Biomedical Research Network (VBRN) an IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program. She serves on the Board of Governors for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Is Medicine® initiative and was previously the Interim Executive Director for the Prescription for Activity Task Force and member of The American Council on Exercise (ACE) Industry Advisory Panel. She was recently awarded the Petra Shattuck Excellence in Teaching Award from Harvard University.
Dr Pojednic received her PhD from the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy and completed her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School in the Joslin Diabetes Center and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
She has a passion for science communication and has been a consultant and writer for several organizations including NPR, Sirius Doctor Radio, Time, Popular Science, Self, Shape, Women's Health, Forbes, Runners World, and Boston Magazine. She holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is board certified Health Coach from the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC). -
Marlyanne Pol-Rodriguez, MD, FAAD

BioBio Marlyanne Pol-Rodriguez, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Attending and Residency Site Director at the Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center. Her interests include general medical dermatology, minor skin surgery, treatment of hyperhidrosis and the interface of EMR technology and medical practice.

Malinda Pola

BioMalinda Pola joined the Stanford University Doerr School of Sustainability in December 2022 as an Administrative Associate for the Department of Earth System Science (ESS) and is currently an Administrative Associate for Environmental Social Sciences (ESoS). Malinda started her career at Stanford in 2014 as a Faculty Assistant at the Graduate School of Business where she assisted faculty with research needs, supported classes, and processed financial transactions for 8 years.
Malinda holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Business from San José State University. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Polan's research has centered around ovarian function during both the follicular and luteal phases. Studies of steroidogenesis, LH receptor synthesis, and the involvement of the plasminogen activator system in ovarian events have been performed.

Alexandra LaPat Polasko
Postdoctoral Scholar, Urology
BioDr. Alexandra Polasko is a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine in the Department of Urology in Dr. James Brooks's lab. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. from UCLA in Civil and Environmental Engineering in Dr. Shaily Mahendra's lab and bachelors from UC Berkeley. Before coming to Stanford, she was a postdoctoral fellow at UCLA in the School of Dentistry, Oral Biology Division under Dr. Hung Ton-That where she studied the role motility plays as a virulence factor in oral pathogens. Currently, Dr. Polasko's research focuses on elucidating the mechanisms that drive benign prostate hyperplasia, which is the abnormal growth of the prostate and affects nearly 80% of men over eighty and can result in impaired urine storage and voiding as well as renal failure. She is a co-inventor on two patents and received UCLA's prestigious Distinguished Teaching Award for Teaching Assistants (2021).

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur lab uses the tools of cognitive neuroscience to understand how decision making, executive control, and learning and memory are implemented in the human brain. We also develop neuroinformatics tools and resources to help researchers make better sense of data.

Danielle Polevoi
Instructional Faculty, Physician Assistant Studies
BioDanielle Polevoi is a recently board certified physician assistant who graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program with a concentration in Medical Education. During PA school, she was selected as one of fifteen students nationwide to participate in The PAEA’s Future Educator Fellowship program. She was also chosen by Stanford MSPA faculty as one of three students in the Class of 2022 to represent our program in the AAPA Virtual Challenge Bowl in 2021.
Prior to getting her master's degree, Danielle attended UCLA where she received a B.S. in Biology. In order to gain patient care experience for PA school, she worked as an Emergency Department Scribe at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center and as a medical assistant in a gynecologic surgery group.
Danielle was born and raised in San Francisco. She is eager to begin her career at SHC in the Medical ICU taking care of critically ill patients.
