Dr. Kumar holds a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and an M.D. with Distinction from UCSF School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at UC Irvine, where he was recognized as the Intern Teacher of the Year in 2022. Dr. Kumar's research interests span health care innovation and translational medicine, such as integrating 3D printing into clinical settings to aid patient education, evaluating novel medical devices. His past work includes the study "Evaluating the use of Radioactive Analogs of Doxorubicin for Quantifying ChemoFilter binding and Whole Body PET/MRI Biodistribution," leading to him being recognized as one of the JVIR Editor's Honorees: Distinguished Laboratory Investigations in 2022.
