Takudzwa Shumba
Clinical Associate Professor, Medicine - Primary Care and Population Health
BioDr. Takudzwa Shumba is a family medicine clinician-educator with particular interests in global health equity, preventative medicine, women's health, pediatrics and integrative medicine. She was born and raised in Zimbabwe. Prior to beginning medical school at Stanford, she completed a Master's in Public Health at Yale, with a focus in global health. She has been involved in public health projects in Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and mainland China and Kenya. She completed her residency at Stanford Health Care - O'Connor Hospital Family Medicine in San Jose, prior to joining faculty at Stanford Family Medicine. LGBTQQI friendly. After several years as a continuity primary care provider at Stanford Family Medicine, she transitioned to providing quality same day access for acute patient needs.
She is currently Co-director of the Leadership Education in Advancing Diversity (LEAD) program, Associate Director of the Clinical Summer Internship (CSI), and was Course Director of the undergraduate seminar “Decolonizing Global Health,” and Co-Director of the "Social and Environmental Determinants of Health" elective. She is a California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) Fellow (2020-2022) and Presidential Leadership Scholar (2022). She previously served as the Primary Care and Population Health (PCPH) Division Global Health faculty lead and PCPH DEI faculty lead. -
Margaret Shyu
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine
BioMargaret Shyu is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Stanford School of Medicine. She is a Bay Area local and completed her undergraduate degrees in Molecular & Cell Biology and Economics at UC Berkeley. She then went on to receive her MD from Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and complete her residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC where she was part of the Healthcare Leadership Track. She helped created the Career Hospitalist Advisement and Mentorship Program (CHAMP) at Mount Sinai, a longitudinal program to mentor internal medicine residents interested in hospital medicine, after seeing a need for it after applying for jobs on her own. CHAMP went on to win the SHM Converge Scientific Abstract Competition (2024) and be featured in The Hospitalist (2025).
After working in NYC during the COVID-19 pandemic, she realized her interest in helping medically complex patients make difficult decisions and has found fulfillment in her work at Stanford caring for patients who have cancer. Some of her passions include clinical research, particularly that relating to workforce and operations, cost of care, and topics crossing multiple subspecialties. -
Michael Victor Sianipar

BioMichael Victor Sianipar concurrently holds the positions of Chairman of the Indonesian Futsal Federation and the General Treasurer of the Indonesian Unity Party. He has operated at the intersection of Indonesian politics, public governance, and institutional reform. Michael’s track record spans driving strategic campaigns for regional leaders and spearheading governance overhauls in major provinces like Jakarta and West Nusa Tenggara. A champion of ecosystem transformation, his leadership experience extends from building emergent political parties and scaling civil society networks to modernizing the national sports industry. Previously, he was the Regional Personal Aide to the Governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2017 and Governor of West Nusa Tenggara from 2018 to 2019, Head of Indonesian Solidarity Party in Jakarta (2017-2022), and Chair of the Indonesian Youth Diplomacy (2020-2025).
Michael’s mission is to catalyze deep-seated societal transformation by architecting high-impact synergies between the public sector, private enterprise, and civil society across local, national, and global ecosystems. Throughout the years in government offices, he has handled various portfolios ranging from budgeting, government transparency, corruption eradication, internship program, district-level management, personnel management, to the development of smart city and open data initiatives.
Michael graduated from Yonsei University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations. He was also a recipient of the Alumni Appreciation Award from Yonsei University, awarded in 2015, as one of two alumni who contributed the most for the past ten years and whose work continue to reflect the University’s core values. He will take a sabbatical from active political participation by pursuing an MBA at Stanford University starting in 2026.
