Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Lin conducts clinical trials focused on cornea transplantation, corneal edema, and cornea infections at Stanford. His research interests include improving the success and safety of cutting edge surgeries such as ultra-thin DSAEK, DMEK, DALK, and DSO. He is actively researching surgical therapies for corneal edema and Fuchs' Dystrophy. He is among a handful of cornea specialists nationwide with extensive experience using intraoperative OCT imaging to perform cornea transplants.

BioLIN Chen is the Chair of Finance and Stelux Professor in Finance at University of Hong Kong, where he also serves as Associate Vice President, Associate Dean (Business School), Director of Centre for Financial Innovation and Development, Director of DBA programme, and Associate Director of HKU-SCF FinTech Academy. He is a former Distinguished Visiting Professor of Finance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, and an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh. Before joining HKU, he was the Choh-Ming Li Professor in Finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has been invited by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to nominate candidates for the Nobel Prize in economics since 2016.
Lin currently serves on several advisory and statutory bodies, including the Task Force on Web3 Development of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Central Bank Digital Currency Expert Group of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Fintech Advisory Group of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee, and the Council of Advisors of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance.
He has published extensively in top science, finance, accounting, management, law and economics journals. His papers also received various awards, including the Jensen Prize for the Best Papers Published in the Journal of Financial Economics in the Areas of Corporate Finance and Organizations. His research in Fintech and digital finance has received major grants from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong and the NSFC of China. Professor Lin’s works and views have been presented in the world’s top universities and institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, WTO, ADB, BIS, US Federal Reserve, People’s Bank of China, Development Research Center of the State Council; and covered by international media such as the Economist, Wall Street Journal and Forbes.
