After attending Washington University in St. Louis for her undergraduate degree, she received her M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine. She has a special interest in helping patients of all ages with weight management, obesity prevention, and chronic disease care.
Dr. Chern has volunteered her time as a physician at Arbor and Pacific Free Clinics, the two Stanford-associated free clinics that provide basic healthcare for underserved patients. In her leisure time, she enjoys running in all forms - most of all - chasing after her fleet-footed twin toddlers! -

BioKateryna Chernohorenko is the architect of Ukraine’s digital transformation and the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine (2023-2025).
During her government tenure, Kateryna Chernohorenko spearheaded systemic reforms that fortified Ukraine’s institutions and redefined modern warfare:
• Launched Reserve+, a mobile app for conscripts and reservists that digitised military records and integrated recruitment functionality (6M+ users);
• Launched Army+, a dedicated mobile app for active military personnel featuring e-reports, training courses, surveys, discount programs, and cross-unit transfer functionality (1M+ users);
• Scaled DELTA, a Ukrainian battlefield management system — officially certified according to the NATO standards and used by 90% of the Armed Forces’ units;
• Formed and led the Drone and IT coalitions, mobilising over $3.3 billion in military aid.
• Established the Cyber Incident Response Center, securing 24/7 monitoring of Ukrainian cyberspace, preventing data breaches, and ensuring the country’s digital resilience.
• Initiated the creation of the Space Policy Directorate within the Ministry of Defense, laying the legal and institutional foundation for global space security integration.
Currently, Kateryna Chernohorenko serves as a strategic advisor to the global and Ukrainian defense tech industry, providing guidance on digital development and drone warfare. She also shares her expertise as a Senior Lecturer at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, teaching the course “E-Governance, Document Management, and Digital Democracy”, and authors a “Chief Strategic Officer in Defence” aimed at C-level managers in the defense industry. -
